SOMOS Experiences strengthens its institutional positioning with the integration of NYC, a benchmark in defence projects
SOMOS Experiences takes a decisive step in its growth strategy with the integration of NYC, a leading agency in institutional projects and events.
With this move, SOMOS aims to strengthen its presence and participation in public tenders linked to entities such as the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of the Interior, broadening its reach and service capacity. The company thus reinforces its role as a strategic partner of choice for Public Administrations and Institutions, with the ability to deliver comprehensive management of highly complex and large-scale projects, while opening a new chapter focused on the development of state, regional and local campaigns and projects.
The new division, led by Francisco Pérez-Castilla Álvarez as Institutional Business Director, has been created to provide the expertise and specialisation required to compete and deliver with full guarantees in a sector that is key to the country’s economy and international projection. The launch of this division adds to SOMOS’s diversification strategy, alongside its established areas in corporate, luxury and trends, experiential, communication and content. This new line strengthens the company’s strategic focus on the institutional sector and public tenders, which represent around 20% of the national GDP.
The addition of a key profile
With more than two decades of experience, Francisco Pérez-Castilla Álvarez has led high-profile projects in both the corporate and institutional spheres, with a particular focus on the tourism, security and defence sectors. In 2014, he co-founded NYC with Lourdes Urrutia, building a multidisciplinary team with expertise in architecture, design and interior design, now fully integrated into SOMOS. His appointment brings the company proven expertise, trusted relationships and the specialist knowledge required to operate effectively in highly complex environments.
“The public sector requires a different language and approach: it operates under distinct rules, codes and demands. Incorporating this expertise within SOMOS, a company with strong creative and operational capabilities, will enable us to compete and deliver top-level institutional projects with full guarantees, strengthening SOMOS’s role as a trusted partner in this field,” explains Pérez-Castilla Álvarez.
Spain’s National Day 2025: a milestone institutional project for SOMOS
SOMOS’s commitment is already reflected in the award of the tender for the organisation of the central event of Spain’s National Day 2025, regarded as the most important institutional event in the national calendar.
On 12 October, the celebration, presided over by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, brings together representatives of the three branches of government, national and international authorities, the Armed Forces, the Diplomatic Corps and civil society, in a gathering of enormous media impact. The scale and solemnity of the event make it both a showcase for the country and an organisational challenge of the highest order.
