MEET...MONTSE GUIX

Back to Blog

Montse Guix, Account Director at SOMOS Experiences Barcelona, describes herself as demanding and always prepared for the unexpected. With a passion for large-scale events and constant challenges, her career demonstrates that with dedication and perseverance, even the most complex projects can become a reality.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
I’d say I’m demanding, fair, and organised... although there are nuances. I’m particularly demanding with myself. As for fairness, I know it’s subjective, but I always try to defend what I believe is right, and if something isn’t right, I fight for it. And organised... well, as much as possible.

What’s your day-to-day like at work?
It’s pretty unpredictable, to be honest. I usually start with a To Do list, but by the end of the day, that list often ends up growing rather than shrinking. For example, I might be deep into preparing a tender, and suddenly, boom! Another urgent one pops up. Or I could be working on an event production, and unforeseen issues arise that need to be tackled on the spot. But it’s never boring; there’s always something different that keeps it entertaining.

Which project are you most proud of so far?
It’s hard to pick just one, because in the end, you feel proud of all the projects that go well. But if I had to highlight one, I’d say those in the automotive sector are my favourites. I love when there’s a lot of car movement, those productions full of action and coordination.

What event or project would you love to organise or work on?
I’d love to organise a large-scale charity event, something like the TV3 Marathon, which is a classic here and always has a huge impact. I’m also drawn to large sports events, the ones that involve many venues and where a thousand things happen at once. I find it a fascinating challenge to coordinate something that big and see how it all comes together.

What would you have done if you hadn’t chosen this profession?
Honestly, I would have liked to be a nurse. As a child, I always thought I’d end up doing that; I felt it was very vocational. However, due to family pressure, I eventually decided to discard that idea.
