MEET... ZURIÑE LARRAZABAL
With a degree in Tourism Studies, BA in Leisure & Tourism Management and a Master in Leisure Management, Zuriñe Larrazabal defines herself as a versatile professional with a high capacity to solve problems in stressful situations. With more than 20 years in the events industry, Zuriñe has joined SOMOS Bilbao as Director of Client Services, not only to contribute the knowledge she has acquired during her extensive professional career, but also to pass on her positive attitude and proactivity.
How would you define yourself in three words?
I would say the words that best define me are responsible, empathetic and self-controlled.
What is your day-to-day life like at work?
As an account manager, my day-to-day work is very intense. I deal with everything from contacting clients and managing their needs, to organising and managing teams and dealing with suppliers. It is a stressful job, but it is compensated by the satisfaction that comes from seeing good results.
Which project are you most proud of so far?
Throughout my career I have worked on many different projects, all of which have been new challenges. I have directed everything from cultural and social events to sport and business events. Choosing one is difficult, but what I am most proud of is the passion I put into each one of them to strive for excellence, thanks to my determination to achieve and maintain high levels of quality.
What event/project would you love to organise/work on?
I would love to organise an event for my football club. Another field I would like to exploit more is culture. These are the events I enjoy the most.
What would you have done if you hadn't chosen this profession?
I would have been a teacher, I have always loved children and I think I have a lot of patience. Another profession I would have loved is veterinary.
