MEET... ANA MERINO
With a positive attitude and one eye always on the latest trends, Ana Merino, our Social Media Manager, combines her enthusiasm with a profound dedication to her job. With help from her team, Ana successfully enhances our customers’ public image, even from scratch at times, thanks to her initiative and strategic vision.
How would you define yourself in three words?
I would define myself as a very curious and stubborn person that is committed to everything I do, at a personal and professional level.
What is your day-to-day life at work like?
Part of my work involves seeking out trends and keeping up to date on everything that is going on, both in terms of the news and any other updates in the sector. It is also important that I stay in touch with our customers and understand their needs. I also review results on a continual basis to see what is working and what is not working, as in the world of social media everything moves fast and you need to keep on top of things to adapt strategies quickly.
What did you study?
I studied advertising, public relations and tourism, and I specialised in digital marketing. This year I completed a creative strategic planning boot camp to improve my vision for each project. As I mentioned, I believe it is important to constantly adapt.
Which project are you most proud of to date?
There are many projects that I am proud of, but there is one in particular that comes to mind: LaFinca Gran Café, the new lifestyle centre for Pozuelo. We started this project from scratch, with zero followers. We handled all the communication and social media elements, and managed to achieve significant growth, increasing its reach.
Do you have any quote or phrase that motivates you and you try to live by?
I am a very positive person, so I would say “Every cloud has a silver linings”. It’s a philosophy that I try to apply in every situation. Always looking forward!
Do you have any anecdotes to share from your previous experiences?
I have spent some time working abroad, particularly in Germany, and it was always challenging. I have so many language-related anecdotes, where I thought I understood something, but it turned out to be the complete opposite. But that’s German for you... it would take more than a lifetime to learn it!
What issues are you focusing on and giving priority to?
Right now, coming back after the holidays, one of the key issues is continually growing the communications team, which I am a member of. We never stop expanding, bringing in new people, all as part of our evolution. There are also many surprises to come. We are working on some very exciting projects at the moment.
