CELEBRATING TELEFÓNICA'S CENTENARY AT MWC

Telefónica returned to the Mobile World Congress with a very special stand: that marking its centenary. And, once again, they put their trust in our team to plan, design, create and assemble the stand as well as to create the contents and the digital experience that goes with it.

A milestone that gave us the opportunity to create an exceptional stand, reflecting Telefónica's commitment to innovation, sustainability and connectivity.

The stand stood out for its sustainable approach and innovative construction: using 3D printing technology to create part of its structure with a fully recycled and recyclable material.

Drawing on Telefónica's values of sustainability and its positioning as a leader of change, our team chose this material to demonstrate that technology can contribute to a more responsible future.

Accordingly, as an agency we found a solution that was not only visually stunning, but also environmentally friendly. Adding to the sustainable aspect, the incorporation of 3D printing technology in the construction of the stand demonstrated SOMOS Experiences' commitment to innovation. This technology allowed the creation of a final design with complex and customised structures with unprecedented precision and efficiency, whilst placing equal emphasis on the cutting-edge technology that characterises Telefónica and its strategic partners.

On the other hand, SOMOS Experiences helped stage 3 experiential demos that showed, through real-life scenarios, Telefónica's capabilities:

  • Open Gateway: A large curved screen transported attendees from the fair to a basketball court while showing the features of the Open Gateway APIs using Virtual Reality.
  • Smart Industry: Two robots performed a full demonstration of an industrial production process, including a live cyber-attack from the control centre.
  • Telefónica Edge Haptic Arena: A space to experience video games like never before thanks to haptic technology, and Virtual Reality, with low latency and high graphic capacity.

In addition, the stand also featured different areas such as an office area, a lounge area, a press area and the agora. The latter, indoor for the first time, featured an exciting centenary video accompanied by impressive lighting effects. All spaces were designed to be attractive, warm and welcoming, creating special environments for meetings with key national players.

The positive feedback from attendees confirms SOMOS Experiences as a creator of innovative experiences that drive digital transformation and sustainability in the industry.
