Get to Know... MAITE ARANBARRI
Maite did her undergraduate studies in Advertising and Public Relations and then decided to pursue and develop the majority of her professional career in event organisation after completing a master’s degree in Event Communication, Protocol, and Management. Maite is passionate about this industry. In 2014 she joined Unit Elements, as Account Director, and later became SOMOS Experiences' Client Experiences & Business Director in the Barcelona office, after the two companies merged. Let's get to know Maite Aranbarri.
SOMOS: What three words would you use to describe yourself?
Maite: I am very passionate, and I thoroughly enjoy every project I carry out. I really pay attention to details, so the second adjective I would use to describe myself is detail oriented. Finally, I would say that I am relentless. I always have the energy to keep going and give my all.
SOMOS: What does your average workday look like?
Maite: Although organising events may seem like an enjoyable and entertaining profession, before the events themselves you have to attend a meeting, and then another, and finally you have to attend another meeting. Apart from that, I must juggle different projects and staff so that each client receives personalised attention. I put out fires and, of course, take care of the people around me: staff and clients.
SOMOS: Which project are you most proud of so far?
Maite: We have developed a lot of projects over the years. However, if I had to pick one, I would pick from the more recent ones and choose the Carolina Herrera presentation for Safilo last summer, and the presentation of Atelier Kerastase's Fusio Dose Kerastase in Madrid and Portugal.
SOMOS: What event would you love to organise?
Maite: Without a doubt, I would love to organise the Super Bowl!
SOMOS: What would you have done if you had not chosen this profession?
Maite: I've always loved psychology, so, I would have devoted myself to that if I wasn't so crazy about events. Although I am always comforted by the fact that I can use psychology in my current work.
