In recent years, we've been hearing how consumers have changed their behaviour and their relationship with brands. Many studies have analysed this transformation and how it was exaggerated by the pandemic. Society has become increasingly concerned about how their actions impact health, the environment, and our surroundings. 

According to 2022's IV Brands with Values Study, 60% of citizens want the brands they interact with to have set values that go beyond business objectives. From a business perspective, this reaffirms that incorporating values into a brand is advantageous. Thus, generating connections with consumers has become a fundamental goal for companies. 

But what is a brand's purpose? It's the essential ingredient that defines the value proposition that makes a brand unique and different. A brand's purpose must go beyond obtaining positive commercial results and must support certain causes or visions that mutually benefit the group. These brands work to positively impact their surroundings and build a better world. 

Events' Purpose

Just as society has expressed greater concern towards the problems we face, the events industry has also become increasingly interested in reducing its impact. 
Since the events industry already creates lots of experiences, having a defined purpose will be even more beneficial because it can generate meaningful, enriching, and emotional connections. Not only can this be seen in how the company's values align with those of the client, but also in how attendees are satisfied with the events themselves. 

Purpose-driven brands tend to be more innovative and creative. They have a long-term vision and provide more innovative and original solutions in their products and services.

A prominent purpose and challenge for many brands in the industry is to be more sustainable. Originally, putting on events highly impacted the environment, however, more and more companies in the sector are working to reduce their environmental footprint.

SOMOS EXPERIENCES' PURPOSE

SOMOS Experiences always goes one step beyond what clients ask of us, it's in our DNA. Thanks to this, and our group's values, we have developed a plan of action that aligns with our goals.

This plan goes beyond simply trying to reduce our carbon footprint. Our ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) department specializes in monitoring our set goals and is responsible for transmitting them to the different teams.

Our first goal, perhaps the most common today, is to respect the environment. This is a core idea held by each and every one of the people who make up our group. We are aware of our carbon footprint, and we want to decrease it through waste reduction, reusing materials, and complying with current regulations. In an effort to achieve carbon neutrality, we are offsetting our footprint by investing in reforestation throughout Spain.

We also focus on positively impacting society, starting with those around us. We contribute to local economic development by counting on local suppliers and producers. Additionally, local resources allow us to reduce emissions that would be generated by longer trips. 

We firmly believe that people are our greatest treasure. Therefore, we take care of those around us. We create a good work environment where we include those at risk of exclusion and promote equality. We also work to ensure safety for all. 
To continue generating a positive impact, we extend our sustainability policy to workers, collaborators, and suppliers, raising their awareness of their environmental impact, while also integrating the policy into our value chain. To do this, we look for suppliers who share our values and provide us with environmentally responsible products or services.

All these actions are part of our plan to meet the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, which help us care for our planet and its inhabitants.
