SOMOS EXPERIENCES BARCELONA IS AWARDED BIOSPHERE'S COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE TOURISM CERTIFICATE

 SOMOS Experiences Barcelona has been awarded Biosphere's Commitment to Sustainable Tourism Certificate for its commitment to sustainability within Barcelona. This certificate is awarded to companies that have sustainable business models and that respect the city's environment. 

The program hopes to incentivise participating organisations to continually improve their good practices and reduce and compensate for their negative impacts. The program uses the 2030 United Nations' Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals as guidelines and has already been awarded to 403 companies in different sectors. 

For the second year in a row, SOMOS Experiences has been awarded in the MICE category thanks to its work. Specifically, this recognition has been granted to the Barcelona team: “This is an internationally recognised sustainability certificate that we participate in by trying to help the event sector become more sustainable and committed to the environment”, says Josep Brunet, Head of Business Development at SOMOS Experiences.

Committed to sustainability at every event 
One of SOMOS Experiences' top priorities is respect for the environment. To this end, we have been working on an internal policy and a sustainable business plan, and this hard work has been recognised by this certification.

SOMOS Experiences aims to reduce its carbon footprint through both training its teams and raising awareness. For this sake, a Sustainability Policy has been implemented to align with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

“Our commitment can be seen both internally, in hiring policies, equality, training, and OHS, and also externally, in presenting proposals that are both sustainable and doable for our clients while offsetting our carbon footprint,” says Josep.
