We connected ideas and technologies at Telefónica’s 2024 Innovation Day

Over 2,000 people, both in person and virtually, were witnesses of the future of technology at Telefónica’s 2024 Innovation Day. This key event highlighted the company’s leadership in technology and digital transformation, and at SOMOS Experiences, we were in charge of the design and production.
 

Connecting ideas, driving the future

Under the name, “(Un)Expected Connections. Illuminating the future by connecting the dots,” the experience, held in the heart of the Telefónica District, became a place where unexpected connections between technologies revealed innovative solutions. SOMOS Experiences brought this vision to life with a striking stage design in which bright balls symbolised the creative sparks that fly when we connect ideas that are seemingly unrelated.
Each detail, from the balls to the lighting in Telefónica’s characteristic shade of blue, reflected that path towards innovation. The aim was that each interaction would awaken new perspectives, offering those who attended an experience that was immersive, inspiring and full of possibilities.
 

A journey through the latest innovations

In an exhibition area specially designed by the agency, those who attended (representatives from over 400 companies, technology developers and partners) had a first-hand experience of the latest trends and technological advances in Telefónica’s research departments. From TU Wallet, an app that revolutionises cryptocurrency management, to new Open Gateway APIs that optimise drone routes and safety, the event showcased disruptive solutions.
